things to do

As you may have already gleaned from other sections of our website, there’s many things to do nearby. You may just want to enjoy the tranquil countryside, reading a good book in the shade of the plane tree or lying out in the sun close to the swimming pool or perhaps you would prefer to rent a bike and go exploring the surrounding area – for example, to buy some seasonal fruit and vegetable from local farmers. We’re happy to recommend where you may find the best watermelon or peaches, picked the same day by farmers in the area.

The centre of Lendinara is really beautiful to visit, with its piazzas, churches, theatre and Adigetto river, which runs through the small town. There is a market every Saturday morning and historical and religious itineraries are available to follow.

We are happy to advise you on other things to do (delicious patisseries and ice cream parlours are just waiting to be tried!) There is a festival on April 25th and September 8th, when the town comes to life with a fair, street markets, entertainment in piazza and fireworks.

Sport and Well-being

Cultural activities, Visits and Wine Tasting

You can visit nearby famous Cities of Art (Ferrara, Bologna, Venice, Verona, Mantova, Padua, Treviso and Vicenza) or with a car, it’s possible to discover nearby towns which are less well-known, but just as beautiful:

We would really recommend a visit to the Villas designed by Palladio, spread across the entire region. The following site can help put together an itinerary and to identify those in the Province of Rovigo.

As a day trip why not take a trip along the Brenta river, from Padua to Venice, visiting the palaces of Pisani, Valmarana and Malcontenta. We’re more than happy to help you organise this and others.

During the Summer period, we would also recommend a trip to the opera in the Arena of Verona, truly an unforgettable and unique experience.

As for wine tasting, we would advise the following routes:
1. The wine route across the Euganei Hills, which is only 20 minutes from il Casale. You can taste around 15 wines, both white (the famous Fior d’arancio, il moscato, il tocai italica, il serprino) and red (Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc);
2. the wine route taking in the Valpolicella (red) and the Soave (white) near Verona, about 40 minutes from il Casale.

It is also possible to spend one day visiting the Natural Parc of the River Po. For more information, please read this interesting article (in English and Italian), published in October 2009 in the Magazine Ulisse, published by Alitalia.
